I bought these for my daughter, but I think I've eaten more of them than she has. I had read reviews saying the flavors in the variety pack were unpredictable, but we received everything pictured in the description. And it was so well packaged by both the cute box it came in and by Amazon that none of the bars got squished in transit, which is pretty impressive given how soft some of the bars are. I'm not a big fan of having to try a product for the first time with such a large variety box, but I think this was a pleasant surprise.
On to the flavors. So far, we've tried the chocolate brownie and the iced oatmeal cookie. Hands down, one of the best little bars I've ever tried. The iced oatmeal cookie is my favorite so far. You'd think you would want a glass of milk or something with it or that it would be really sweet, but it's really balanced. The regular energy bars are not crunchy at all. They're actually so soft that I'd feel comfortable feeding this to a younger child, maybe in the toddler range. That is definitely something that you'd have to judge for yourself though. I haven't tried the protein bars that came with it but they're much firmer from what I can tell by feeling them through the packaging. They're not incredibly large bars, either. But I find them really filling. The fruit twists look pretty good as well. My daughter says she likes them and that's good enough for me.
The packaging it was shipped in is a cute little box. It's great to keep them stored in and it's definitely recyclable. The packaging for the bars themselves is not difficult for me to get into and I have arthritis, so it's reasonable to assume that most children would be able to open these themselves.
I'd have to rate this overall as a 9/10. I wish that the bars had more nutrients, but the taste is definitely there and it's well thought out as far as portion and flavor variety. I also wish that there were an equal number of all the flavors. But that's a personal preference. It's a good starter kit for maybe a classroom snack box (if your school allows it) or even to send off with your college age kid. It just sort of bothers me that I paid almost a dollar per bar for this box. It's a little expensive for my taste, but sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

We bought the multi flavor pack to try them all. So happy we did. The kids love the brownie and choc chip. They think they are having dessert and im happy its at least healthier! Hubby and i argue over the iced oatmeal. Its so delicious! We play rock paper scissors for the last one. I also am thankful for this product being SNAP eligible. Its hard having a fixed income and finding healthier alternatives when you have kids who love sweets!

There is 9 added grams of sugar, so I wish they would put a little less in there. I am sure it would still taste good (9 grams is actually a lot). Why does everything have to be loaded with sugar?

We swore by these for a while as our kids really liked them. So much so, that we had a subscription to them each month. BUT THEN, all of the sudden, they added a peanut butter flavor that took up half of the bars in the box. And none of our children like it. So we had to cancel our subscription.
WHY did they feel the need to add this flavor, and soooo many of them in one box??
Very disappointing!

The product description is misleading. None of the pictures items have Zbar products with nuts. However, 8 of the 16 bars I received had some type of nut product, which means we can't use them for school - the reason I ordered them. The website also says these don't contain ingredients parents try to avoid, which I would think includes high-risk allergy foods. These are tasty, but I would avoid if you have nut allergies because what you will receive is totally random.

I almost fed a moldy iced oatmeal z bar to my 3 year old nephew. Thankfully, my sister caught him before he took a bite. After inspection, we saw the wrapper had little holes and cuts spread throughout. Please check the wrappers and the bars before feeding children.

While I can understand that the listing says “flavors may vary”... When the lead image shows no peanut butter flavors and the pack you receive contains 75% peanut butter...for a household that has kids with peanut allergies, that’s just not right.
